Indoor putting mats

Is there anyone who has a putting mat at home and is really happy with it?
I'm interested in the Izzo mat, but I'm afraid the roll won't be realistic...

I've got the kick back one. It's definitely a blast if your stuck inside. The 3x9 one looks neat also cause maybe its wide enough to put some undulation in it.

funny you should mention it, i just got the 3' x 9' mat yesterday (the one with 3 holes), and it just needs to be smoothed out right now, its crinkly from being rolled up in the box...it comes with 3 foam pads from where the holes were cut out and you can place them under the mat to make different breaks...it works well for me, the only thing is the cut out (kidney shape) makes it hard to aim for the one hole right past it, not sure if its left or right...i got mine for $40, and i like it enough...its still hilly as i said, and i gotta wait for it to lay smooth against the carpet...in short, i like it, im sure there are better ones out there but they prolly cost more...

For the courses I play my mat is a good bit faster but it has a slope to help you not be short but I found I am still a good bit short on slow greens unless I really try to get it past the hole.

yea, the speed is definitely a little faster but as corwin mentioned, there is a slope so you develop a firm stroke and don't leave putts short...but i dont think you'll find any amazing simulations unless you buy those $500+ tour links greens...but dont take my word for it, some stores have putting mats on display, ask them if you can try it out...or you could buy it, try it out very carefully, and if you think it wont help or wont be fun to use, return it...

We have a 16 foot putting green we use for tradeshows (I am not in the golf industry, it is just fun we do with customers to see if they win prizes). Anyway, I figured instead of sitting in the warehouse for six months, I bring at home and just play with. Now I have only been using it two nights for about 45 minutes; which has been fun for my 2 year old. I hit the ball; she brings it back to me. But the last time I played, I did not three putt once (on nine holes). Probably a coincidence, but it made a guy with a 25 handicap feel pretty good. (by the way I shot a 46).

I found the matt was a little slower than my greens, but I think it was good for the muscle memory and confidence. I will definitely keep using it.

Cool

My mat is a bit faster than most greens I play, but it varies a lot depending on the greens. As for practice, it's hard to beat. When I practice 25 putts a day on the mat, it shows on the course. I'm more consistant, and my line is never off by much. Take a few practice strokes at the course to get a feel for speed, and you're well ahead of the game. And, if you think about it, when was the last time you played a course that the greens were the same as the practice putting green? Every putting green I've ever used, is in much better shape than the greens on the course, and they don't match the speed of the real greens either. That being the case, what difference does it make if my mat is faster or not?
