Golf Pride Decade Grips

Thursday night I replaced the tour wrap midslize grips that came with my 2006 BB irons, with Golf Pride Decade multi compound cord grips, also mid size.

Of course at this point I can't tell how durable they'll be, but they FEEL FANTASTIC! I played on Friday, and the grips provided a nice combination of firmness and feel with a loads of tackiness.

I'm thinking of replacing the dual durometers on my woods and hybrids with these.

Anyone else use these? If so, what are your thoughts?

Had my other clubs re-gripped with these and loved them. I had them for about 6 months before I sold the clubs (DR at least 4 times a month and at least 2 rounds), washed them after every use and they still played like new. Very durable grip imo.

perfect combo of no slip, good feel and durability. I have them in my woods and hybrid. When my iron grips get worn im definitely putting these on.

Ditto,
I added it to my 3 wood. This next spring I will explore changing my own grips and these are what I will use. I use the standard size currently.

Cool

Any "cord" grip will last a long time and provide good purchase on the club. Those grips should last you a few years at least.

I assume you're talking about the red and black New Decade grips? If so, they're good grips when they're bone dry. When it's humid or if they're slightly wet with sweat then they're one step away from becoming a frizbee. They're not as bad as the Winn leather look-alike grips but they're not as stable as I wanted them to be. I had these grips and fell in love with them at first. After playing one summer with them I've switched to the Tour Velvet full cord midsize and really like them. I'm not sure if it's the Tour Velvet or the mid size that makes these grips so appealing to me. They're much more comfortable in the hand and definitely easier to hold on to. Simp

I hope they hold their "tack." One of the reasons I bought them was the combination of cord! My hands sweat a lot in the Summer, and I go through a few gloves each round - last thing I need are grips that can't stay tacky.

I'll have to deal with this next year though, since sweaty hands won't be a problem for the rest of the year.

Thanks for the input.

I use the players softie...I picked it originally on the strength of its playabiliy in wet and humid conditions (which I am in constantly)...they are quite tacky, as is the tour velvet I have on a practice club...

I, too, have sweaty hands. I live in FL and got the grips in May on all irons and driver. Once it got humid...I hated these grips. My clubfitter was going to swap them out but I tried something that worked. I took some scotch-brite (like the kind used to scrub pots) and washed the grips with dawn and scrubbed them really good with the scotch-brite. This helped BIG TIME.

When I first got the grips, the chord material was really subdued. Roughing up the grips brought more cord out. The grips don't feel rough though. You'd never know I used the Scotcht-brite on 'em.

I still need a fresh (non wet) glove with 'em though.

30yrlayoff - thanks for the feedback. They replaced Golf Pride Tour Wraps, which I found VERY SLIPPERY with even the slightest dampness.

I'll remember your scotch-brite tip.

Best grips ever! Make sure you clean them with soap and water after installation and then every couple rounds. I have VERY sweaty hands and these are the answer to my problem. I replaced GP Tour Velvets which I still like but they wear out fast..
