Hybrid 3

Hi,
I have an Adams idea iwood hybrid. The loft on this club is 17 degrees. It seems that it competes to closely with my 5 wood. Why do they call it a 3 "iron" with a 17* loft. Would changing to a 21* hybrid make sense. Any body else have the same experience? Recomend a good 3 hybrid club.
Thanks,
David

Different manufactures have different systems for numbering their clubs. While one company may call their 17 degree hybrid a "2" another may call their same degree of loft a "3". There is no standard. Don't pay too much mind to the number of the club, "2" "3", etc. You want to focus more on the loft, and not get something too close to one of your other clubs.
