Impulse ebay purchase: Taylor Made r7 Steel 5 wood 18.5*

I was snooping round ebay and found a new Taylor Made r7 Steel 5 wood 18.5* with only a couple minutes left in the auction, so I grabbed it. It was under $100, so I figured how could I go wrong. I've never owned a 5 wood, but I'm thinking I might ditch the 2 iron for a while, and experiment with the 5 wood. I know this is no new idea, but who knows, maybe it will be a good fit. Just thought I'd announce this to the world, as if it makes a difference to anyone.

I dunno man...I've always been able to smoke my 2 iron, but the 5 wood has me intrigued...time will tell.

This gives you another selection of weapons for your arsenal to attack the course with.
You can never have enough weapons.

That's funny, because I just eBayed my TM r7 5 wood the other day. Somebody got a great deal on that thing.. I only hit it like twice. Now my 2 irons back in the bag.

It'll give you more of a selection depending on course conditions. It may also give you a bit more of distance off the deck than the 2-iron, but for sure that was a nice pick-up.

The 5 wood will give you more versatility. You can chip with it from the hairy collars, and get better results from the rough on those fairly long approach shots.
