Do you carry a ball retriever?

I don't have space for a golf ball retriever in my bag. I notice some people have them trying to fish for balls in the ponds but it seems like a waste of time. The balls look like **** and probably don't fly optimally.

Do you have a ball retriever?

Don't have one now, but I played with a guy the other day who did, and at every pond he'd pick up some balls, and many of them brand new! Think I may get one for the bag on practice/casual rounds!

YUP....I carry one....that way I can retrieve my water balls. I don't go cleaning out ponds just because there are balls out there. If its mine I'll go after it, if I pick up other balls I give them away. There is a reason why those balls are in the water. Karma.

I refuse to carry one, but I always hope the person I'm paired with has one.

In Florida it's almost required. My day isn't complete unless I finish with more balls than I started with.

I carry a small 6 foot one i got from a pro-am. i just put in the long pocket in my bad. I do alot of fishing when there is none else on the course. I play a private club so i end up finding alot of nice pro-v's that the old rich guys dont bother looking for.

Only in the winter, when there's ice on the ponds. Then you can find a lot of balls sitting right on top of the ice, and it's easy to haul in a bunch of them. You could just walk out onto the ice and pick them up, but as fat as I've gotten lately, the ice is never thick enough for that.

Yep sure do!!!
My wife walks with me and she will go out and retrieve balls..
I have a few dozen Pro V1 and some new Taylor Made balls...

She enjoys the walk and I enjoy playing with balls I could not normally afford.....And of course the wonderful company..

Isn't it funny how you find more Pro V's on the course than any other ball?

Duffers!

I have shopped for one and regretted not having one several times. I play a public course so I usually play with better golf balls than I find. However, Fairly often the ponds are clear and just..... out of reach of my longest club is a shiny new golf ball. It is amazing how easy it is to recognized the coveted V1, even under the water.
Now with leaves making it easy to loose balls on the fairway, I have grabbed some of the water balls I was able to retrieve. It is less stressful and the risk/reward is better.
