there are plenty of alternatives, you could easily just put two clubs (irons) together and swing those, or there are specially made weights (different sizes) that clip onto your irons or woods (near the head, to add that weight) etc... which arent too expensive.

Wow, that seems almost too good to be true. One question, though ...

Could I buy that and the Momentus Practise Driver? I mean, would it hurt my game in any way to have two different weighted clubs from two different manufactuers? (

if you have an old club you can make the same thing as the mastergrip product, by just cutting a hole in the top of the grip, pouring in sand and lead shot and then fill the hole with candle wax.
The weight is through the whole club just like theirs and your only out 5 bucks tops.

I have a weighted club. I watched the momentus video and it says it teaches you to swing on plane. I feel no feedback as far as swing plane goes, not sure it is useful for anything more than building strength. Any body know different?

If (and I do mean IF) you can find them, Gary Player Golf has the "Heavy Hitter" clubs in both driver & iron models.

you could always use one of those weights that people use to put around their bats in baseball while theyre on deck or w/e to warm up. They work just as well.

Don't you think that those might be too heavy, for one, (being designed for a column of relatively hard, dense wood, not a narrow hollow steel tube with a chunk of metal on the end) and also that it might fly off mid-swing? Or do you mean swing a bat with that on it, in which case wouldn't it ingrain poor swing habits, since the two aren't even remotely related?

Easy way

Hey,
I recently wondered the same thing, and made my own weighted club using duct tape and a golf ball. Chec out this post. Read the fourth part on how to make it, and you should be ready to go. The weighted club works great with the Swingyde.
Good Luck,
Golf Champ

Well, I'm thinking of now getting the Momentus Power Hitter Driver. (for christmas, so it's basically free) Not only is it a weighted club, but you can hit balls with it. I don't think there could be any better to way to build up strength and swing speed over the off-season than this

I'll also do what Viper recommends if I want to do it for the iron swing as well.

I have read some people were unhappy with the 310 and would have preferred the light version. It sounds like a great concept.

Regarding cheap alternatives of the Momentus, Walmart has the Intech but it is 48 ounces which feels a little too heavy off of the rack (but I never swung it either). I like the weight of my 40 ounce Momentus but it does feel light to me - my fear is injuring myself with anything heavier.

I think www.rockbottomgolf.com has that Power hitter for cheap. I almost bought it but opted for the Medicus to help with my swing. The Power Hitter is what I would consider over that speedstick.
