Nike Irons Decision Please

Greetings, first post here and I was hoping to get some insight from anyone with some experience with some different Nike iron sets.

Last year I started golfing, and picked up a cheap set of Wilson clubs from sports authority and I'm thinking about upgrading. I'm on a fairly tight budget so I was looking at one of 2 sets of Nike clubs:

NIKE Ignite Irons

or...

NIKE CPR Hybrid Iron Sets
http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...TEGORY_ID=5870

Being pretty much a beginning (i.e. not very good) golfer on a fairly tight budget, do you folks think either of these sets would be a vast improvement over my cheapie 99.00 set of wilson clubs?

The things I don't like about my current clubs are, the grips are terrible and uncomfortable, the clubs are very heavy, my accuracy and distance is hit and miss. I'm sure the accuracy and distance is a mix of my skill and the clubs, sometimes I just hit that sweet spot with my 7 iron and a shock myself, sometimes I'm sliced 25 yards to the right.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with these lower end/intro set of Nike clubs? Do you think it would be money well spent for clubs that can get my through the next year or two of playing or would I just be ending up with another low end set like I already have?

Thank you for the help and feedback.

The Ignites are the replacement for the CPR's I believe. either set is suitable for a person new to the game as they have hybrids in the set. The CPR's are on for cheap on ebay. I am a fan of Nike equipment. Great quality and getting better all the time.

Sir Id say one of the best people for you to ask here would be nikerep07. I personally agree with milner for the most part but Id say you should go to the store/range and try a few if you can. You need to find a set your confident standin over and you have good feel with.

Yes....Corwin and Milner are right......The ignites are the replacements...They dont really sell the cpr's anymore....The main thing is getting fitted for the right shafts, shaft length, shaft flex, lie angle and other stuff....That will be the biggest difference...You might be 100% standard, and go buy clubs off the racks, but usually that isnt the best thing to do.....The ignites are a good set of irons and you wouldnt need to upgrade for quite somet time...Rory Sabbatini plays the ignite irons on tour, so good players can use them for sure!

Big thumbs up I used to play with the original Nike CPR set. Excellent clubs for the price point. Nice and forgiving, with beefy wide soles, perfect for a (second) starter set. The CPR wood hybrids are great, I still use them in my current bag.

Why don't you hit some clubs and chose the ones you like best?

I could tell you that the clubs I play are the best ever. But if they don't work for you, what good is my opinion?>!>
