I like both...both are top drivers but the titleist feels more solid at impact and I feel like I have more control over the shape of the shot...the tm hit very well for me in a range demo, but I had a harder time working the ball...hit a nice high draw every time though and there is alot to be said for that...

I agree the Titleist is more of a players club. The larger head does makes it the most forgiving Titleist driver out there. I personally like the response but my game is not ready for shaping outside of "not slicing".

If you are looking at the TM r7 TP version you will need to be accomplished as well. You will be able to customize the weighting.

You have an enviable decision. See if you can take them for a round and compare.

Meeting the sweetspot with the 905r is just like meeting the sweetspot on the mp-32's.

I hit my best drive this morning in heavy mist...wasn't sure that I made good contact...really felt like I missed the ball...pure sweet contact...BTW, I found the ball right of center a long way down the fairway after playing a provisional...sweet...

I have a Ping G5 which I switched to from my 983K in February. The G5 is a great driver but I tend to hit the ball high (9*) and with a gentle fade if it isn't straight. My stock shot all my life was a gentle draw so the change esp. when aiming down the right half of the fairway hasn't always been welcome! I have a 905R on appro from our equivalent of a discounter and have been impressed by both the trajectory - a little lower even though it's a 9.5* loft and the ability to hit a draw when I want one. I think it's a little longer than the Ping which is probably due to the roll. Both have NV65 R shafts.

The price on the 905R has been reduced from R2900 (+/- $400) to R2400 so there must be something new in the pipeline for '07. At that price I'll probably trade the Ping ($230 offered) if I keep the ball on the short stuff for my next couple of games>

I like the Titleist better. I love my TM V-Steel fairway woods, but something about their drivers just doesn't feel right to me. I love the way Titleist feel though off of the face.
