I have demoed them and loved them, really soft feeling I am buying a set in January. BTW if you buy a set on CG4s between now and 1/31 you get a free Hi-Bore Driver, I don't plan on using it but I will resell it to help offset some of the cost of the irons.
Got a new CG10 wedge with mine last spring. The lofts on the CG4's are a little steeper so expect to more carry per club than other sets, not a bad thing, but I use a 53 degree Approach Wedge to fit between the PW (45 degree) and a 56 Sand Wedge. This gives me many options for 125 yds in.
They have a great feel with the special steel. I used mine (about 50 rounds) this year, had the lofts checked last week and needed no changes.
The 6-PW fly very straight. I aim for 165 yds out so I can to use the 6 it is so consistent. The long irons are pretty easy to hit, even though the 4 iron has a slice vendetta against me (every golfer has one nemesis club). I use a TM 7 Wood in its place most rounds unless I feel adventurous. It is in the bag now as the weather is nasty. I will get up to speed with it by spring.
Have them fit. Most pros include that in the deal.
I hope you like them.
FYI - The tour version has less offset but if you are new, as you said, the regular will add some consistency to your game.
I am looking into the cg4 tours/ cg2 If any of you all have used them both, or just looked at them in the store. Whats the sole width and top line comparision? I don't want a wide sole or a thick top line.
I can see them on the website, but its hard to see the difference from the angles they have.
To the OP, I have heard great things about the regular cg4's, Most tend to love them. And with adding a free hibore, it makes it that much better for a new golfer.
What I like about them is that they have less offset than most of the game imp. sets I have checked out. I also liked the r7's but they have a good bit more offset in the short irons. I hit the cg4's and they feel great. I'm gonna hit the i5's next and see how they feel. My local shop is selling new cg4's for 499 with no free hibore or 699 with a free hibore.

i've been playing the cg4 since may. absolutely love them. they have some offset, but, as mentioned above, don't have as much as other irons do. they feel really soft, and the flight is really nice (for my swing). i bought them new on ebay, registered them through cleveland. apparently the irons were legit, since i used the serial provided and cleveland golf hasen't sent me a letter or anything, stating that the serial was not correct. would they let me know if the serial was not a real serial, or if it was used with another set? regardless, i'm happy with them, and i'm sure you will be too.
