3 wood better than 980F?

I'm sick and tired of my 3 wood so I'm gonna buy me a new one. I have provisionally decided on the Titleist 980F but I'm wondering if there's a better 3 wood out there. I'm looking for a shallow faced 3 wood is basically it.

I don't think you will find a better one at around the price you can get the 980f's for. I am sure some of the new ones have better technology but you will be paying top dollar for them.

I have a 980f with dynamic gold s300 shaft in it if your interested....would let go for cheap.

In my opinion, the TM V-Steel is the best fairway wood of the ones I've hit. Lots of pros are still playing the V Steel today, so you know there must be something to it for them to play a three year old club. Plus, you can get them for about 99 bucks now too, so that's a great deal.

The 904F is a really nice club and you can get them cheap on ebay either new or used.

You're about to get a vote for everyone's flavor of the moment...980f is a good club, the shaft in steel isn't going to reflect current technology, and the price is right...what's not to like (of course I like my mizuno better!)

The 980f was one of the best 3 woods ever made......IMO.

I picked mine up used after hitting everything at a golf shop. The shape makes it good off the ground (fairway or rough). Mine tends to draw (not a bad thing for me). As mentioned in a previous reply it came out before the exotic shafts were a option.

I was looking around myself at 3 woods. Maybe I will just re-shaft mine.

Before making a mistake go to a fitter and be prperly fit and try out different models. Try before you buy and have it correctely fit.
Look at a Wishon 515 fairway wood one of the best on the market

TM 580. Obscenely long for a fw wd. Get the right shaft. I've got an x-flex penley in mine & get a medium high flight with decent rollout. Way easy off the tee or deck.
