I say if you're not playing in tournaments, then go for the slope since it's only fifty bucks more and when you're already paying 400, what's 50 more?

I didn't really feel like I needed the slope. I can do a decent enough job judging the uphill/downhill changes to know to take off a club or add a club...plus the golf store only had the one without slope.

Well I played my first 9 holes today with the Pinseeker and I must say I'm VERY impressed. This thing is awesome. Never once had a time when I couldn't get a yardage to a flag...IT'S SO EASY. On the range I easily shot the 310 flag at the range. Never had the need to shoot any bunkers or water hazards as I knew the yardages anyway. But the best thing that even though I wasn't on the green with every approach shot, I was pin high and that led to a much easier chip and what I would assume led to my -1 score for 9 holes.

I've never used the GPS devices but I can't imagine being any happier with a yardage device than I am with this. Well worth the price tag.

All the reviews I had read also, people had said it took 10 seconds to get a reading. This is FALSE. I had every reading nearly instantly and at the most 2 seconds. If it takes you 10 seconds to get a good reading then you're very shaky with the device.

So if you're thinking about one, go for it. It's great!

I bought my Pinseeker 1500 about 6 months ago and I still love it. The literature says they are accurate to within +/- 1 yard. About 2 months ago they had a Bushnell rep on the Golf Channel talking about their product. He said the 1500 is actually calibrated to be accurate to +/- 9".

+/- 9" is amazing and I'd believe it. I think my Pinseeker and I are going to have a very good relationship going forward.

Cool

Deron, I'm glad you got a laser, it sounds like it's working for you just as well as the Yardage Pro 500 I got 3 years ago. I got mine at a sporting goods store, and they let me take it outside and try it on trees, mounds of dirt, the curb of the parking lot across the street. That allowed me to see what it was capable of, and I went back in the store and pulled out my credit card. Paid $150 for it, and it's good to just under 200 yards to a flag, much more than that to trees or things bigger than a flag. I've also found that the yardage markers at driving ranges are off by quite a bit at time. For one thing, a lot of them move the tee markers during the year as the grass gets beat up, so that changes things. They also move the yardage markers when they mow the grass, and they don't get put back in the same place over time. The range I use the most now has a new sign with the exact yardages to the yardage markers from the mats. The instructor at the range saw me with my laser, and asked me to measure all the distances for him with the laser, so now I know they are all correct.
