Cleveland Launcher Irons vs. Launcher LP

Hi all.. I've been playing with the same set of spalding irons for about 7 years now and it's time to upgrade...

I'm looking at the Cleveland Launcher LP's and noticed there is the "non-LP" older line as well..

Does anyone know the difference between LP's and regulars?

thx.

I think the regular launchers are a liitle more game improvement than the lp's. They are both considered oversized game improvement irons though.

thanks squibber..
price wise, the LP's are a lot cheaper.

How would you compare the LP's to the TaylorMade RAC HT's? They are in the same ball park in price.

Well I have'nt hit either of those, but as far as what they are made to do I think they are the same type of irons. They are both made to be very forgiving and get the ball up in the air qiuck. Both are made by quality companies but I really can't comment on which will hold up better or feel better to you. I would go to a store and hit both and get what feels good and gives you the flight you want. The rac's would probably hold their value better. It seems like rockbottomgolf.com had a good deal going on the rac's.

Rac ht's are 349 3-pw uniflex steel on rockbottomgolf.com. Rac os's are 429 I think.

I went to my local golf shop and hit the Cleveland Launcher's, Launcher LP, TM RAC OS's and Cobras (forget what type). The Launcher LP stands for "Low profile" which is a lighter less forgiving club. I asked about the TM HT's and the guy told me they were almost identical to the OS's so they dropped the HT's and just have the OS's now. The OS's will soon be replaced by the R7 Draws..

Anyway.. my point is after hitting and liking both the TM OS's and Cleveland Launchers (both out of my price range) I decided to buy online sight unseen the TM HT's. All 3 clubs have a large face and wide bottom (I know, I'm butchering the terminology) which should help a high handicaper such as myself.

Online I got a 19deg utility, 22deg utility, 5-PW,SW for $415 all Taylormade Rac HT except for the TM utility clubs.

I also ordered the R5 10.5deg regular shaft for $165 shipped. I hit the R5 and really liked it..

Thanks Squibber..
