So after hitting a half dozen forged irons on a launch monitor, I found I liked the feel of Mizunos over the others. I liked the MP-60s of course, and the newer MP-33s. I have found on Ebay though a set of MP-37s for a screaming deal. The MP-60's are going for around 550 for a decent used set, the MP-30's are even less, and the 37's are even less . So my question is, are the 60's worth the extra $$$ and how much differently are these three clubs going to play from one another?

The 37's are a smaller head with a more penetrating ball flight...I love the 37's except the wedge looks like a shovel....But the 60's and 30's are pretty close....
Is there going to be much difference in forgiveness. I realize that these are considered a "blade" style club, but between the three is the 60 or 33 or even the 30 going to be more forgiving. I am looking for more feel and workability of the ball, I think I am a good enough ball striker to play a club with a smaller head and less offset, but I am still a mid-high handicapper. (mostly because of my driver)
Personally, i would say that no, the 60 is not worth the extra money. If you have no trouble hitting a higher trajectory shot right now, the 60s will get the ball up almost too high. The 30s, in my opinion, are a far better choice as a player's CB. That said, I think the best Mizunos to date are the MP-29s or 14s. Given that both models are nearing a decade old, you can get VERY good deals on each. Both perform very similar to the 33s.
As for forgiveness, the 60s will give you the most of these choices, followed by the 30s, and then the muscleback offerings. The 29s will likely give you the LEAST, even less than the 37s will.

Umm honestly not really...I like the 37's...And no the head size is not that much difference..you might notice a difference in maybe the 3 and 4 iron or so, but like you said, if you are a solid ball striker, you will be fine....
Thanks for the input guys, I figured as much but I wanted to ask someones opinion other than then the salesmans. I see that your iron shafts are hardstepped NikeRep. What exactly does that do for you?

I hit the ball very high, with a ton of spin...Hard stepping them lowers my ball flight a bit and stiffens the tip of the shaft, causing my misses to be a little bit less left or right....this is just something else I do to lower the flight a little bit!
If you dont know what hardstepping is, it is putting a 4 iron shaft in a 3 iron....and so on throughout the set....A lot of people soft step clubs if they need stiffer than an s300 but are not ready for an x100, they might get an x100 and soft step them one club......
I see. I knew it was changing the shaft liike you mentioned. I just wasnt sure of the point of it exactly, whether it was for distance or like you said, ball flight. It makes sense though. Thanks much.

Yep no problem...see shafts are designed too bend a little more at the bottom to help get the ball in the air...Say like your 3 iron and your pw...Your PW shaft is real stiff and doesnt have much flex in the tip because its already a 48 degree club.....and the 3 iron, most people dont hit high, so they make it a bit more flex at the end...So I just eliminate that 1 by making a 1 club difference....You could hard step more than 1 club, but then it would start to feel like a board.....
In my opinion if you can hit a 60 or 30 then you can hit a blde like the 37 or 33. Shank any one of these and it's going right, toe any one of em and it really does'nt matter which one your hitting because you ain't on the dance floor anyway. JMO

I agree. The 29's are the best ever in my opinion.
Have you checked out the 32's or the 60's or my personal favorite the 67's? Mizuno makes very nice clubs and the 33's and 37's are alright but I think all of the other three I listed are much better.
