Question who here plays the taylormade r7 irons?

im looking to get somefeed back on the r7 irons in stiff steel ... what irons did you play before and how do they compare? i have yet to hit them but they were just recently rated the top irons in golf digest...i may have to go demo a set here...i like the way they look. and i love taylormade products. If any of you play them id like to know what to expect...and how much u got them for. thanks

I just got my TaylorMade R7 (regular, not the draw, tp's, etc) irons 2 nights ago in the mail and have not been able to hit them yet. I demo'd them down at my local shop along with about 10 other sets and found out these were the ones for me. They aren't extremely bulky (think Slingshot OSS) but are still a game-improvement set of irons. I can't wait to get out and hit them once this snow goes away.

Previously, I had a set of Golden Bear's that I got from Coscto about 8 years ago. It was my first set, standard length/lie with uniflex graphite shafts. They weren't the best clubs, but they were a good first set. The feel I got from the club I demo'd at my specs (+1/2" 2* upright) felt amazing. Along with those specs, I opted for the Dynamic Gold S300 shafts instead of the T-Step 90 gram that it comes with, and got golf pride midsize tour wraps because I love the feel of those.

The snow should be clearing out here within a week, so when I am able to get down to the range, I'll let you know how all the clubs feel.

FYI, here's a pic I posted in my other thread, they're great looking clubs.

Man, those clubs are gorgeous! That's exactly the clubs I want (in a lefty version). Now you need to get rid of that Golden Bear 3,5 and replace with a Taylor Made Hybrid. I have a TM weighted Rescue and now I don't carry 3,4 or 5 iron. My best club in my bag is a TM 56* R7 Sand Wedge. I use it on my short game. I don't carry a P or G wedge anymore.

It's weird, I really want to find an excuse to get rid of those Golden Bears, but recently I've been hitting them extremely well, so I think they might stay in the bag until they become unhitable again. I say again, because it's bound to happen, and it will give me a good excuse to get a new club

those r7 irons are great. Everytime I go into one of the local stores I hit those and the tp's, both are the best feeling cast irons I've ever hit.

I currently play the LT2's and love them but trying to convince the wife to let me get the r7's.Maybe in a few months.Good luck with them they are sweet and as far as the fairway woods if you can hit them keep them I struggle with woods hit my 3 iron better driver is no problem just fairway woods off the deck.

I don't have a set but my buddy bought a set he is a least one club down on distance from his old clubs. I hit them on the range and the ball really flies off these things I have a set of X-18's which I love but he R7's are longer.
