Hello I am 14 years old and I am on the local school golf team. I have a set of the original nike slingshot irons and lately I have been really dissapointed in the ammount of distance I get from them and I hit the sweet spot every time and it just flies super high with no distance. I have been working on my swing and now I can wok the ball into a fade or draw. I have been looking at the nike forged blades would that be a good choice for me ?
Sure, why not? Go and try them...I will say that when I went to a tour event, most had some variation of a cavity back in their bags and they could play pretty good...
I play mp 60s...mp 30s are sweet, so are a bunch of other clubs out there...brigestone j33, sxrion i506 (bargain of the lot IMO)...I would look at both musclebacks as well as forged player's clubs with a bit of a cavity...

I hate to sat this, but remember, drive for show put for dough...
If you hit it high the ball will stop on the green with or without back-spin, maybe you should stay with the high shot....

Thats only part of the reason. I want more workability with my irons and I cant get that with the slingshots.
I'm not a big fan of blades vs cavity back, Nike vs others?
I'm a go and hit it and see what happens. I'm looking to buy new irons.
Again, just hit a bunch and see what fits you, I wouldn't be set on a particular brand, right now I've been hitting the cobra fp's better than the T/M R7's and I love the feel of the R7's.
So do I go for feel or distance/consistency? It's a personal decision.

I would definately consider blades. Be prepared to swallow your ego for a while, though. The sweet spot on those slingshots is probably double the size of the blade-- which is about the size of a dime. They have greatly improved the center of gravity position over the last decade or so, but it's still going to take some patience and practice just to hit it like you do now-- which, by the way, sounds quite good.
The pay off, imho, is that at 14yrs you have some time to greatly improve your swing fundamentals and body mechanics to be much more precise than they are now. The blade can do that for you (I should say "with you"). Get a used set of Mizunos-- at least try them out; I noticed MP-14s on E-Bay for a couple hundred bucks.

Why Mizunos ? Are they more forgiving then the nike forged irons ?
Mizuno forgings are just plain smooth. The feel when you hit one in the sweet spot is something you won't soon forget. The Nike's seem to lack that level of quality, but I haven't tried their newer ones, so they may have gotten to that level now.
I looked at the mp-14s and they look pretty nice and their in my budjet to. Now I have to find somebody that wants to buy my slingshots. Anybody know anyone who wants to buy some slingshots and a nike slingshot bag ?
I wouldnt consider the Nike blades if you want distance as the lofts on the blades are very weak. I used to play then and had them bent to standard lofts. They weren't very forgiving but I loved the way they set up. I am currently playing the Adams Pro Forged set and I have to say that they are one of the best iron sets I've ever played. I play the 4-pw and a 3 hybrid and I just love that combo. The lofts on the Adams are also strong with a 46* pw as I am hitting a club longer due to that.
I would suggest hitting the CCI and possibly the X forged set as well as the Cobra Carbon CB's.
