Grips ! DD2 ... or DUH??

Just changed to Golf Pride DD2.. bright yellow matches my SQ driver as my old grips were getting hard after a year of constant play and being in the car boot most of the time.

But just had the worst game of my life.. was shanking it on a few shots and the grips seems to be too smooth on my hands.. (i.e. no grip and easily twisted coming down) plus was playing the morning ,so there's a bit of moisture from the dews...

is this a normal for new grips ?

should i changed back to my semi cord golf pride grips instead of this new DD2?

thanks

GP Decade Grips

I just had my clubs regripped. I have always used Lamkin full cords on my irons but this time I decided to try the GP Decades. They may be the same grip you mentioned above (formerly used by you). They are corded halfway up the club and are multi material- red and black. I've always felt the cords are a great help when it is wet. Many of the new grips seem great in the shop, but when you get them out on the course it's another story.

Try rubbing them with some 80 grit sandpaper and then spraying them with windex and wiping. Should help roughen them up and then get any residue off that may be making them slippery. If that doesn't work, I'd go back to what worked before.

guys..thanks for comment... changed back to the GP semi cord grips ..waayyy better..
another reason why i was shanking (or so the club fitter was telling me ) , was that the DDU is heavier than the GP ones by about 5 g.. that's 1 swing weight differerence. plus the bottom side (nearer to the exposed shaft part) is smaller so you tend to have a stronger right hand grip to compensate .

didn't know a simple grip have so much issues affecting your play .

cheers
