3 ball putter?

Could someone explain to me the difference between a regular mallet putter and a 3 ball putter?

The only thing I can say is that the 3 ball has 3 balls on the head to aid alignment.

Its more powerful for say like slow greens maybe... and with the alignment... its pretty nice. put i wouldnt buy it though...
