Any opinions on Adams wedges and Ray Cook wedges and putters?
I've got the Adams Idea A1 irons and I love them. I've also got a cheap ****** sand wedge(56) and lob wedge(60) that I got from Target for like $7 each. I'd like to get a 52, so I figured maybe I'd also replace my 56 and 60. But I don't have a bunch of money to spend, so I'm looking for some decent wedges that don't cost $100 a piece.
I saw the Adams Tom Watson set for around $100 for the set of 3 (52,56, 60) and they seem to get pretty good reviews. RockBottom golf also has some good deals on Tommy Armour and Ray Cook wedge sets.
They've got the Tommy Armour Pro Spin set(52, 56, 60) for $75 and the Ray Cook set (52,56,60) for either $60 or $90 with a free putter (the Gyro or M1-3G).
I'm currently using a cheap Wilson putter so I might be looking for a nicer putter as well.

My dad has the Adams gunmetal 52* wedge. It's not forged, and not quite as soft as some of the high end wedges on the market. But the sole is very usable and it isn't rock hard. The finish wears off pretty quickly, but that's only cosmetic since it's not forged. It's really a great value, as are most of Adams clubs.

Ive got the chrome tom watson wedges, and for the price I dont believe you can beat them. Good feel, good looks, good spin and they are very playable and can be opened up easily
Some might find the bounce a little low though.
The shaft is a little lighter than most other wedges aswell which I like alot, as I feel i've got more control on less than full shots better.

The 52* is my favourite, its my go to club.
What's the bounce on your clubs? I thought I read that the latest version has more bounce (at least on the 56) than the previous year's.

Mmmm. cant remember exactly. I think the 52 and 60 are 6 and the 56 is 10. But I think the bounce has changed once or twice. the gun metal ones are 7, 13 and 7, as are the '07 model. So yes you should be ok with the latest version. Unless you like low bounce of course.

Thanks.
I just bought the set of Adams Tom Watson wedges yesterday. I'm think I'm going to use my lunch break to go hit a bucket. I don't have enough experience to know what kind of bounce I'd prefer, but my guess is that having the higher bounce on the 56 would help me out in the sand.

The higher bounce will help out of the fluffy sand and in deep rough.

I just purchased the Adams Wedge Set. I will report back after tomorrows round as to how they worked out.
For those who asked the 52* is 7 bounce the 56* is 13 bounce and the 60* is 7 bounce.

I just got back from the range and these Adams Wedges hit great. I can wait to use them tomorrow on the course. I picked them up for $89.99 for the 3 club set.

Ok I was able to test the wedges yesterday during my round with real golf balls and I was very impressed. I still need to find out the exact distance for each with full swings but I did notice that I am getting a lot more spin with then than my old wedges.
