Has anyone else spent any time with the new Top-Flite D2 balls?
I bought a 15-pack of the D2 Feel version last week and I have honestly been amazed. I hated Top-Flite, but this ball actually does have some feel and spin for me. I paid $16 bucks for the pack and while this thing is not a ProV1, it's not far from it and at that cost I was very surprised.
Sometimes when I try something new it has a honeymoon period and I was wondering if anyone else has tried these and has more experience with them. Thanks.
I've tried the Top Flite D2 Feel and like you, I think it's a great ball for the money. I get great distance off of it and it's soft enough that it will stick on greens. Where the Pro V1 has it beat is on short shots but for the money, the D2 is a great ball. Not like the old Rock Flites.
Terrible legacy, but Callaway's trying to change all that.
You should give the new Strata's a spin. They cut a little easier than I'd like, but they're long, and spin good.
I was hoping Callaway would change Top Flite for the better. I will have to try a box when I need balls. I just picked up 2 boxes of Precept Laddie Extremes. I got the 24 ball boxes for 19.99 each.
I am a 3 handicap, and I have used them for the last 3 rounds, and I found them great. They do not spin as much as a Pro V1, but for me that is good. They are long off of the driver, and I found that I am using 1 shorter club than I used to. I bought them at $14.99 for a 15 ball pack, for that price, and the great performance, they will stay in the bag.
Hmmm...could have gotten a couple for free? Looks legit.
I played again with them yesterday and I think they are the real McCoy Long as any, very durable and the spin is just right. They do not spin as much as the premium balls, but that's good for me. Some of those balls spin too much and this one is reliable in that area. I just aim 5 feet short on short approaches and it checks up nicely. With the ProV, sometimes is stops, sometimes not as much and while no doubt that is me not the ball, with these D2's I feel I can count on a consistent level of spin.
As all have said, at 15 bucks for 15, it makes it a no-brainer for my bag. Thanks for the feedback all.
I have used the d2 feel. I liked them because their soft and cheap but i felt i lost some distance with them, i will however try the distance d2 and see how they work.

I got the "distance" balls; I wasn't impressed....
are there any real differences between the three? or is that just baloney? i did get the two free balls, but have not had a chance to try them out. thanks for the link!!!
