Yeah.. Mine is labeled 16, My dads R580XD is labeled 10.5, so I'm not sure if they omit the .5 on fairways or not but it seems odd. Of the TaylorMade pictures I've seen none of them even include the degree specs on the wood just its number.

i think the best way to get peace of mind is to go to your local golf store and check them out in person. since the ebay seller has great feedback and fairway woods routinely don't have the extra .5 degrees marked on them, i think you're in the clear but it might be good to double check anyway.
I'll do both of those tomorrow morning. As long as the serial isnt fake calling customer service sounds like a great idea. I'll run down to the store also, I imagine at least one of the two retailers here will have a 4 wood.

It is a good idea either way. They won't scold you or anything if it unfortunately ends up being bogus... in fact they will advise you on how to proceed as far as getting your money back, and they will eventually "deal" with the person who sold you the club.
95+% chance it is legit, but you will have total peace of mind when they confirm the serial as genuine. Even if the ones at the shop have a 16 stamp (if they even have any stocked), it doesn't mean the club isn't a good fake. I suggest that anyone who buys a club off of ebay or the likes confirms the serial number before hitting them.
The serial numbers from both clubs are authentic TaylorMade numbers. The only question now is if the serial numbers were added on by a knockoff company or at the manufacturer. I was also told that some 4 woods went out stamped as 16* and not 16.5* as they are supposed to.
I am likely overreacting to the situation, and if this company sells fakes they are darn near identical because the other people didn't notice. But there are a few minor finish flaws, that double stamped V-Steel serial number, and the 16* marking that worried me.
EDIT: I'm going to the store this afternoon to see if the finishes/imperfections are similar on any of the other clubs

Wait, what do you mean both clubs? Thought this was just one 4-wood? Also, "double stamped V-steel serial number"?... I re-read the thread and still not sure what you mean there.
Sorry, I suppose I forgot to mention, there is a V-Steel with the order also. The serial number is double stamped. What I mean is, there is a light stamp and a normal depth stamp of the same number about half way down the light stamped serial. I figured it was hand stamped and they did it too light to begin with so they tried to put another over top of it.
