45* pitching wedge

My Callaway X20's have a 45* pitching wedge. From my previous set I had a 52* gap wedge and a 58* sand/lob wedge. How would any of you reccomend spacing my wedges. I have about a 25 yard gap between my pitching wedge and my gap wedge. I was thinking of going 50* and then 56*. But I love the versatility of my 58* because I use it mostly around the green and am spot on from 80-90 yards with it. I guess I could go 51* and have a 56* bent to 57* for a compromise. What do you think?

Re: 45* pitching wedge

My PW is 45°, gap wedge is 50°, and SW is 56°. I find that for me the 56° is good for 95% of the needed greenside shots. I have a 60° that lives in my garage. If I ever find a need for it, I can always bring it back out of retirement, but in the last 3 years, I haven't seen the need. Most of the time now I only carry 9 or 10 clubs, so I have plenty of room in my bag.

Re: 45* pitching wedge

Mine is 46.5 ( X-14 pro ) followed by 53 GW and 62 Lob. I don't hit LW more than 50 yds ( impossible to swing fully anyway ) but it saved pars from most impossible spots so many times. I can't imagine playing without it.. GW does most of piching, chipping, sand works from 50-110 range.

Re: 45* pitching wedge

Add the 58 degree and remove the 3 or 4 iron (which ever you use less). These are your scoring clubs. The more versatility you have from 100 yards in the better. I like the gap wedge because my pitching wedge is 45 degrees. If I run into soft sand I will pull my 56 for a Ping 58 degree (it has more bounce to be a good loft wedge). I also have a Cobra 60 degree which I need to master before it becomes a permanent feature in my arsenal.

Re: 45* pitching wedge

my pw is 46, i've got a 50 gap and 54 and 58 sand wedges. i know what you mean about the 58, that's my money club. i've got the 54 for bunkers mainly, as it has a high bounce. the 50 fills the gap nicely...
