Golf Clubs and More Cloned Clubs: The Real Deal?

Hi Everyone,

I am in the market for new clubs as the the ones I have are 13 years old. I am a 20 handicap who plays once a month, so I am having a hard time justifying the amount of money I would need to spend on new clubs.

I came across Golf Clubs and More, Custom Golf Clubs at Discount Golf Prices from Golf Clubs and More a custom club company who specializes in cloned clubs. I wanted to find out if anyone has bought equipment from them and what your impression has been. The prices are a 1/3 of what you would play for the real deal, but with the amount I play, I would love for this to be a viable option.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Also checkout Custom Golf Clubs by Pinemeadow. They have people that you can call and can do your own measurements to get fitted.

Thansk BOBX460, have you ever played with anything from Pinemeadow? What was your experience if you have?

Re: Golf Clubs and More Cloned Clubs: The Real Deal?

My beginner set is from Pinemeadow Golf. It's nice but the "regular" flex on the standard aldila shafts are quite flexible..

If I could, I'd now rather steel irons and stiff woods.

The quality is pretty nice though. My dad bought 2 hybrids there also, the quality of them is a lot nicer than the cheapo set. I also bought a 56* wedge and it's nice.

overall, they're good and definitely worth the price, but you have to know what you're getting. they're not quite the real deal..

Look around your area there are shops in my area that build clubs and you can go talk to the folks there and try some out. Even brads like Integra aren't really knockoffs but have some nice componets.
And yes Spike I don't know what is going on but a lot of the new Regular Flex clubs are like wet noodles. More people with modrate swing speeds that have used Regular in the past like me are having to go with the lighter gram weight Stiffs.

They keep making the shafts lighter, and lighter to promote increasing the swing speed through the reduction of weight. The problem with this is that it makes the shaft flex alot more than people who aren't aware of this are expecting.
I think they should change the rating system from "stiff" etc., to putting an actual recommended swing speed range for new shafts. It would simplify life for anyone willing to find out their swing speed, or who already know it.

Re: Golf Clubs and More Cloned Clubs: The Real Deal?

I have Pinemeadow irons, 3-pw, sw and a gap wedge all stiff shaft and I like them. They're my first set so I don't have a lot to compare them to, but I have used my brother-in-laws ping set and I couldn't say one was better than the other. They feel like a solid set of clubs, and at $190 for everything above it's a great deal.

I also bought the Excel 3-wood from them, but I don't like it. It's too fat and I never use it on the fairway, only off the tee when I don't want to hit a driver.

Re: Golf Clubs and More Cloned Clubs: The Real Deal?

Well see that explains why with a moderate swing speed I hook the regular shafts.

Re: Golf Clubs and More Cloned Clubs: The Real Deal?

yeah as I've gotten better it seems I hit more hooks/draws than anything else..and my driver goes pretty high sometimes which also can mean it's too flexible..

Re: Golf Clubs and More Cloned Clubs: The Real Deal?

There's a formula in one of the threads that should be able to help you calculate your swing speed. (I'll look for it later) It's based on carry distance - NO BULL carry distance, not driving distance.
According to it, I should hit the ball 292 yards carry. Now, while I do occasionally make this magic number (and occasionally farther) most often, my drives are short of 292 yards, including the roll. My swing speed averages out to 117 mph, so you should be able to figure out yards/mph=swing speed. So, roughly 2.946 yards per mph of swing speed? That doesn't sound right. I gotta find that formula again.

Your distance will be 2.4-2.5 times your SS, so, divide your distance by 2.45 for your est. ss.
