I came across on a different forum site wherein the Forum mod said that Mizuno makes the best iron clubs as compared to Callaway, TM & Titleist.
Is this true?
Callaway, TM & Titleist are well known for their driver technology. While Mizuno irons are known for their iron technology and quality, specially in forged.
You see, im planning to get a new set of Mizuno and I want to know everyone's input on this.
mizuno is known for making high quality irons whether they are blades or have cavity backs. i wouldn't take someone elses word on it. i think callaway and titleist make irons that are also high in quality. go with what you like and hit well.
all three play awesome, and oddly enough the best blade I played at demo day was the taylormade RAC (includes both 32s and 67s, as well as 695 MBs)
One company to look at whose sets you can get used for WAY cheap are Ben Hogans. They're owned by Callaway and (IMO) make better irons (all of which except the BH-05s are forged).
I purchased my Mizuno MP32s because of how they feel and looked....really soft even on mishits....before I got them I tried Titleist, I think 804, 755 and 690 all of which hit hard as a rock....painful on my hands on mishits, I don't even know if I hit a good shot with them, maybe I'm not yet ready for titleists...I also hit the RAC TP very good clubs too but they were a little harder than the Mizunos, not the buttery feel everybody is talking about.
For me, I think, what came close to the MP32s were the MP60s and the Callaway X20 tours, they both have similar feel. I just liked the 32s better, really better feel and they really look good! I think they hit the ball a little farther than MP60, I would have given the X20 tours another chance but I was not able to hit them on the range just hit them in the cage...Mp32s still looked better than the x20 tours, IMO anyway.
In my opinion yes. I have hit most irons on the market today and Mizuno is the iron I keep coming back too. I have turned many people onto them and they have fell in love much as I did. I think perhaps Miura clubs would be the only other option for me and my taste/game. All the words in the world do not compete with hitting them though. Go test them all out. You will see what we are talking about. Good luck. I hope they work out for you.
My entire set of clubs was stolen out of my trunk. I had MP 32s and just loved them. After a suitable period of mourning, I was able to locate a used set of Bridgestone J 33s cavity backs with SL S-300 shafts for only $325. Although not quite as good as the MP 32s, I am very pleased with them and the price was certainly right! Check them out!
