GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
Anyone use this GPS device. Looks like the way to go for me. A little expensive but simple to use and tons of courses. They also say that if they do not have the course you want that they will map it within 5-7 days. They claim to give priority to course mapping requests. Subscription is 29.95 yearly.

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
Don't have one but I'm going to check it out. I own a Garmin GPS "Legend" and use it occasionally for hiking. Garmin has great customer service AND you can actually get on to their web site. Another thing is that it states that the Garmin is "waterproof" vs. the SkyCaddie stating that it is "water resistant." I've played in the rain and having one that is waterproof would definitely be a plus. Doesn't say if it has a backlight. $29.95 subscription "worldwide" is a deal compared to SkyCaddie. All of my local courses are there. I'd like to see some reviews on it too.

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
Great unit. Friend of mine uses it and swears by it. I just found that RockBottomGolf.com carries it as well. Seems they all pretty much carry it for about $350. If you use the coupon code GOBOILERS you will bring the price on RockBottom down to $315.

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
I'm curious if anyone out there has a GolfLogix system and can tell me about it? I'm still trying to convince myself I need one, and the fact that Rock Bottom has dropped theirs to $249 w/ free shipping seems like it's too good to pass up. I would appreciate any positive or negative comments from owners/users, even people who've golfed with someone that owns one.
Thanks in advance.

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
FYI.
Golflogix has just come out with the GPS-8, effective March 1st, lists for 299.00. Look on Ebay and you will find many of the old style for less than $200.00, with free shipping. Google for GPS-8

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
I was going to buy the golflogix but didn't. It doesn't have the ball mark feature.

I'm guessing your talking about the yardage of your own shots as you play the hole? I haven't really demo'd too many of these units but I do own the GOLFLOGIX. When you start the hole, if you press the enter button, it will give you the yardage of your shot, once you reach it. And will continue to do so on that hole until you hit enter again.
I like the Garmin, obviously a great name in GPS. Mine was accurate to a yard or two, and was really spot on mostly.
I purchased my Golflogix on Ebay, from a reputable seller. It was shipped to my door for about $286. A few dollars less than buying locally in a shop or at Dick's. I picked up the annual subcription for unlimited courses.
I do have a question, once we download the courses. . .after our year subsciption is over. . .do we get to keep the courses? At least the 20 the unit will hold???

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
I dont think so, according to the company website, if you let the subscription run out, you only get to keep the first "free" course that you downloaded.
Also, does anybody know whether you can use the distance finding feature on either the GolfLogix or SkyCaddie separate from the course mapping? Meaning if youre on a course not on your unit, can you still use said unit to find your driving distances etc.?

Re: GOLF LOGIX BY GARMIN?
I have a Pinseker 1500 (without slope) and it is ALWAYS dead on by 1/2 yard. I never have any problems with it and I darn sure don't need a subscription to anything...
