Buying this soon...Not sure what flex to get on the shaft..My swing speed is ~90-95 with my driver..So i thought of regular with a 9.0 loft or stiff with the 10.5. Maybe just change the shaft to something that fits me.
Suggestions appreciated..comments on the shaft and club as well. from those who've played it.
I would buy the stiff flex regardless of loft for that swing speed. The shafts in the Cobra drivers play pretty soft. I wouldn't sell someone a regular flex in a Cobra driver unless their SS was definately under 90 MPH.
thanks for the quick reply, anymore would be great.
Since you seem to know about shafts..do you know how the stock shaft on the sasquatch plays? It's the one i have right now, and unless i go at it fast(cant slow it down for more accuracy) the ball just has a really low trajectory..and i mean..really low.
The new Sasquatch Sumo's stock Diamana shaft is very soft. The regular and stiff flexes have 4.4 degrees of torque and are the softest version of the Diamana line. It's yellow and black in color.
Some of the other shafts are a lot stiffer like the optional VS Proto or ProForceV2.
I dont understand why anyone would play anything less than a stiff flex. Why would you want the shaft to flex more. I have a 84 mph swing speed. Why would I want the shaft to flex? wouldnt that cause the face of he club to remain open?

Because if you fail to get the shaft to flex, your distance will be compromised. Furthermore, it is entirely possible that you cannot get the club head back square for a shaft which is too stiff.

You want the shaft to bend and then straighten out just before impact. This is where a lot of power comes from. Think of it as "Spring Back". You bend the shaft, and it stores up energy, then the shaft "kick's back into the ball. and that stored energy is released into the ball. If the timing is correct, you hit the ball a lot farther. That why you want to shaft to bend.
If the shaft is too stiff, you can't make it bend enough, and you lose power. It's that simple.

Right..that's why im eh about buying stiff, i want to make sure i always bend the shaft enough to give me that kick.
GolfMe: I was playing a R flex shaft in my driver before I increased my swing speed to over 100. At 97 MPH I was doing fine with the R flex shafts. It all depends on how you load the shaft, more so than just your swing speed. If you can, get tested on a ShaftLab and find out how you load a shaft. At 95 MPH, 2 years ago, the recommended flex for me was A flex. I was playing R flex, but A flex is what the recommended flex was. Now I'm at the top end of S flex, with a late release. Top speed now is 110 or 115 if I do every thing correctly. Tha'ts in practice, on the course more like 105 tops. I never seem to do it all correctly on the course for some reason.

So much of this shaft flex stuff is about pride and being macho. At 84 MPH you might even do better with a senior shaft but no one would want to admit that because they think their manhood will be in question. Hit what ever shaft gives you the best best combination of distance and control. At 84 MPH there is no way you can be getting the most out of a stiff shaft.
At 93-94 MPH I am between a Stiff and Regular and have 2 Drivers one with Regular and one with Stiff. I find that with the Regular I don't have to try and swing as fast as I can and hit the ball with a lot more velocity and hence more distance by leaps and bounds( as much as 30 yards father). The control is similar.
Don't let your Ego get in the way just because if your playing partners are all playing stiff. If you want to get your drives out near them go with a lighter shaft.
If my swing gets faster as I play more I will go back to the stiff.

Find a way to hit the club you are going to buy, or one with identical spec.s!
I dont have an ego problem. I dont care what shift I use I just want to make sure it is the right one. I have to go somewhere that can recomend the correct shaft. I think that is why I am having a problem with slicing the ball.
The shaft isn't the reason you're slicing the ball, That's you. Sorry, but the shaft is not the problem. Take a lesson and work on your grip, and relaxed hands. 'That's most likely your problem. The reason you slice the ball, is that the club face is open in relationship to the path of the club at impact. Square the club face, and the slice is "toast"
I have that driver. I too, have a swing speed of about 92 and I got the 10.5 degree with the Regular Flex shaft. Don't get the one with the blue colred shaft, get the one with the dark orange shaft - that's got the mid-torque, mid-speed shaft. I love the thing - the easier you swing, the farther it goes. Any pro that I've ever asked has said that A) most amateurs should never have less than a 10.5 degree driver and B) should never get a stiff flex unless their swing speed is above 100.
