Wedges

My Vokeys are probably in their last season. They still play fine, but the marks from bag chatter is starting to annoy me. I'm 90% sure I'll go to the Vokey spin milled. But does anyone have any other recommendations? I've heard Cleveland makes great wedges. What's the difference between the 1 dot and 2 dot.

Re: Wedges

I believe they still make the three; 1 dot, 2 dot and 3 dot. Different degrees of bounce. Not sure which is which but I believe the 2 dot is around 8 degree which is versatile.

Re: Wedges

Wishon makes a good wedge (CX Micro) as well. I've heard feel golf makes decent clubs. Something to consider.

Re: Wedges

I personally like the Cleveland wedges. I think that they have the best feel of the wedges I have tried, and you can get them in just about any loft/bounce combination you like. If you can find them, the RTG (rusting) wedges really hold up nicely over time . . . better than the chromed versions.

Re: Wedges

Try the Solus 7.1 56 and or 61ree deg. You will be shocked at the feel and flexibility offered with the crescent technology........

Re: Wedges

Try the mizuno mp-r or mp-t series in black nickel finish. Excellent looks and feel with a load of spin.

Re: Wedges

Vote for the vokeys...I used to play cleveland 588 and the feel was good and after sharpening the grooves gave as much spin as the spin milled which I have now...the difference is the weighting, the balance and the leading edge which I find easier to square to the target than the clevelands, making for better accuracy...

Smile Re: Wedges

1 dot-Low bounce-used for shallow attackers and tight fairways

2 dot-standard bounce

3 dot-High bounce-If your chunky get this one or if fairways you play on are like rocks

Hard fairways I wouldn't want one with high bounce. Low bounce would be much better. Soft fairways would be better for high bounce numbers as it prevents them from digging. High bounce on hard fairways can bounce into the ball more giving a screaming grounder.
