Thumbs up Driver heads, & Advice on golf clubs

I was golfing earlier this summer and I found a driver in the trash. the head was broke but the shaft was perfect, and I'm getting a whole new set this year, so I figured I could just get a driver head and put the head on the shaft I already have, considering i know someone who does that, he could do it for me, so does anyone have any places they know of that has name brand driver heads? The other clubs I might consider buying are the 2006 cleveland launcher steel 3, & 5 woods, 3i, 4i, & 5i cleveland hi-bore hybrids, and ping eye2 blue dot irons, and I have a white hot 2-ball putter, although my friend has an srt 2-ball that he doesn't use anymore, and he said I could use it because its just sitting around so I might use that instead. do you think they are good or bad clubs? and any advice on which clubs to buy?? And anyone have any websites???

thanks in advance

None of the OEM's sell just heads as far as I know, so that's not likely to work out for you. But if you know someone that builds clubs, ask him what driver head he would recommend for you. Hireko.com sells lot of componsnt heads, as does Golfsmith, Check and see what they have. Also ask the club builder if that shaft is worth useing in a new driver. Could be a real good shaft, and it could be not so good.

I don't know. If it was in the garbage, how good could it be... use your head here.

what shaft is it? as far as heads go, you can look on ebay...they've got them on there, i've seen some taylormade heads...though they could be fake...good luck.

Re: Driver heads, & Advice on golf clubs

The person I was golfing with said it was a good shaft. but I wasn't sure. Buying just a head wasn't my first choice, but the heads on ebay are the same price as the driver with the shaft, so I think I'm going to go with the Titleist 905r or the Cleveland hi-bore XL. The 905r or XL you could get around 90-120 if you are patient, and just the heads are about 100 or so, so its not much cheaper. The head was broke thats why it was in the trash. The shaft was an EMG shaft, so I kind of decided against just buying just a head.

thanks for your help, but what do you think of the other choices of clubs? I'm not really set on any fairway woods. I'm looking for some that are a couple years old and are good clubs, that I can get for a good price on ebay
