As I was trying out the TaylorMade R5 XL, Callaway Ft-5 and the Ping G5 the salesman asked me if I wanted to try TaylorMade's latest driver the Burner. It just seems to be a beauty and im actually thinking of purchasing it. But as I know golf is something you wouldn't want to purchase than regret. The real question is, "what is the Burner compared to other drivers?". Just a little bit about me, Im an Asian golfer, aged 14, playing to HC 16 and seriously considering the Burner. So I would really appreciate some reviews/your personal opinions on TaylorMade's latest driver the Burner. Thanks alots.
My opinion is that you ought to go with the one that you hit the best (go and demo them) and that looks the best to you...all fine drivers; just find the one that you love...
You need to try them all outside,get custom fitted,and dont make a snap decision. Personally i dont think the burner is that good there are better drivers on the market. Ping g5,callaway ft-i,nike sumo,yonex powerbrid etc.
I just got one last week. I like the feel at setup,seems easier for me to hit square shots with it. However I have been shocked over the lack of distance I seem to be getting with it,even hitting the ball more soild, but that could be just me.

That is amazing in that with the overly long (46") whippy shaft, I found the dispersion unacceptable in the off the rack model with stock TM shaft, but if nothing else that club was LONG (esp. considering it is two inches longer shafted than the driver I currently play)...

I did forget to mention I bought one with a Proforce V2 Shaft on it. If that makes much of a difference
I got one about 4 weeks ago and have played about 4 rounds with it. I got the HT model with the stock Reax shaft, regular flex. I never thought I would find something to replace the 580XD that was in my bag for almost 5 years. I'm 60 years old, play to around a 12 handicap, and my driver swing speed is in the low 90's.
With the Burner, I aim down the right side of the fairway/rough and swing easy. The ball ends up in the middle or left side of the fairway. Long enough for me, and VERY HIGH ball flight. I have to fight the tendency to swing harder as this causes the ball to really draw too much.
For me its a "keeper." I'm hitting more fairways than ever. But as others have said you should try all the drivers that you are considering.

I had a proforce v2 and my biggest issue with it was that it would not "open up" or provide the benefits of it's design unless I was swinging fast...my ss is top around 107, but I would imagine I play a few mph's below that for the most part...the stiff v2 I had would give great control, but would be short, considerably so on days that I didn't have my better swing...on the days I did I could feel the shaft load properly and the club was an explosive control club...I switched to an aldila nv , which after being fitted I found to load at both high and lower speeds, keeping my distances much more consistent regarless of my condition that day...
those are all good clubs you mentioned; definitely pick the one you hit the best;
I ended up going with the Burner TP and I love it. Very straight and easy to hit. I went with one that has a 75g shaft (Fuji Rombax); the 50g was too light.
