Mizuno MP57's or Callaway X-Forged Irons?

I've been looking into getting new irons for a while now, but i'm having trouble finding demos since i'm a lefty.

i did manage to demo the X-Forged irons, and loved the feel, but the Pro at my club recommend Mizunos...and the only mizuno demo i found was for the Mx25s (i thought they were ok, but not what i was looking for).

i'm currently playing some old rather old game improvement clubs with regular flex steel shafts (which i think are a bit whippy for me, considering my 6 iron swing is about 95-98 MPH on a launch monitor.....something stiff would be nice), so any new set would really be an improvement, especially with regard to shafts.

my handicap is about a 6 right now, and what i'm looking for are irons that could give me an improvement in feel and distance control.

so has anyone hit both the MP57s and the X-Forged irons? what do you think about them?

would anyone recommend anything else?

Re: Mizuno MP57's or Callaway X-Forged Irons?

I think the Mizuno's would be a little more forgiving, judging from the fact that they have a little more mass in the perimeter of the head. Ultimately, it would be a preference issue because both heads have similar offset and profile.

As for the swing speed, that's way up there. Make sure to get X100's or 7.0 Rifle shafts for that type of power. Anything less would probably cause some lack of control.

I would go with the MP60 if your playing off 5. Got a bit more workability, although you still get it with the MP57, you just get more off it with the 60's!

I tried the 57/60/X-Forged last week, didnt like the X-Forged at all, although the Titilest were nice, thinkg it was 7xx cant remember the code for it now. Might be worth a try

Yes. Logie's got a good point. Look at the Titleist 735 CM's. That's a progressive set with blade 8-iron thru PW and a gradually increasing cavity from 7-iron up to 3-iron.

Also, the 755 CB's are a nice players' cavity back. Stricker plays them. They would compare to something in between an MP60 and MP57.

I throw my vote for the Mp 60s and Mp 32s...for the next step in control with some forgiveness, these are the sticks...I am regretting not getting the 32s, but when I demoed them 18 months ago my good shots were better with the 32s, but my bad shots (the determinant) were better with the 60s...I love my clubs, but if there is a better set out there they are the mp 32s...

For the record, i ended up getting the MP-57's with project x's in 6.0. And i absolutely love them. I feel that my trajectory is infinitely more controlable, and my distances are far more consistent.

Re: Mizuno MP57's or Callaway X-Forged Irons?

They've got to be some of the best irons on the market today. I, personally have a brand new set of AP2's W/5.5's in them, played once and I can't see why I would change them around.

If you know anyone interested, please let me know.
