I could use a little help

Hey everyone, my name is Melissa and I could use some help. Im new to this site and Im also new to the world of golf. The reason for this post is that one of my very close friends had her car broken into and one of the things that was stolen was her golf set. Im trying to be as sly as I can about this and what Im getting at is Im planning on buying her a new set. Price really is not an option for me. She is someone who has been for me when I needed her, and Im not saying that buying her a new set is going to make everything better its just, she loves to play. Thats where her heart is. So Im shopping, but I need advice. I dont know what kind is a good set, how many of what clubs I need to get and so on. I do know that she did have a Nancy Lopez set I believe. I did go to the site but then again Im not really a golfer. So if anyone good help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Melissa

If you wanted to just get her the same set she had, Golfsmith carries the Nancy Lopez line...
Golfsmith.com: Nancy Lopez Full Sets

I would suggest you get her a fitting with a pro that includes the clubs. That way she will get exactly the clubs that suit her and her game.

That's also very nice of you.

Re: I could use a little help

If money is not an option for you then I would suggest set up a fitting with a local golf shop, then taking her there and getting her set up with a fitted set of clubs. You could make it a suprise type of deal if you wanted. You cant really go wrong with a good fitting set of clubs and the pro could also get her into a good set of clubs for her. Just beware that this could get a bit pricey...$$$$...or like Brian said get her the same set that she had stolen. Whatever you do I hope she knows how good a friend you must be to go out and do something like this for her.

Re: I could use a little help

Melissa, make the shopping part of the surprise. Take your friend and let her pick out what she likes - she needs to have a fitting. If you make it into an outing, that will keep it special. Perhaps you could put together a golf goodie bag - tees, sleeve of balls, pretty golf towel, etc. and include a "homemade gift certificate" for new clubs & bag - give it to her and say it's to go with her new clubs that you are taking her to get - then bring her to the store.
It will make the surprise that much better if she gets to choose.
Diane
