Lady Putter! Advice and Tips

Hello. I'm kind of a noob at golfing. I started playing like 6 months ago and I've come a long way. My score went from a 120 to a 98 average for 18 holes.
But when I putt its always coming up too short or too far. Perhaps I need a new putter or something. I currently have Adam tight lies (pink) golf club set. But the putter I would not recommend it. Its just not very good! I borrow a friend's putter. Its old and it needs a new grip or something. But I putt better with his! He has a Wilson augsta or something like that; he got it for like $10. So I dunno.
But I want a new putter and I don't know how to go about it. Money is not really an issue, but I would like some suggestions. Thank you.

Try a large number of putters, for example at a golf-store, and buy the one you like. That's it!

Re: Lady Putter! Advice and Tips

Straightshooter said it all! Go to the golf shoppe and start putting. Try as many as you can, hit several balls with each. If it doesn't feel right, put it back . If it feels good, put it off to the side. When you've tried all that look good to you, go bavk through the ones you put aside and eliminate the "weaker" feeling ones. Repeat with those that are left. Chances are there will be a favorite in there somewhere. When you find the one that "just feels right", THEN look at the price tag and proceed to checkout.

And, don't get hung up if the one you like is cheap. All the newest putter technology means nothing if it doesn't feel right.

If you are looking for a suggestion, you might try out a Ping Udrainium series putter at your local golf store. Very high quality material, good all-around weight, and very accurate. Suzann Pettersen on the LPGA uses one. She does pretty darned well with it too.

Re: Lady Putter! Advice and Tips

Go to Golfsmith store and try out a bunch of putters, They have a good size putting green in the store, so you can try short putt to long puttts. Make sure you try the Detour putter. Looks weird, but it works quite well. I make my own putters, but of the ones' I've tried other than my own design, the Detour is my favorite. Not cheap as I remember, like $300.00.
