Golf Buggy design

Hi im an industrial design student. I have recently recieved a project to redesign a golf push/pull type golf buggy, having only played golf a couple of times i would like to know other players experiences with them, good or bad. What features need improving? how much do you value them as a part of golf?

Re: Golf Buggy design

My main complaint with the Sun Mountain Speed Cart (push cart) was that the tires would constantly go flat because of stickers. I like that kind of tire on push carts, but it would need to be a no-flat design...solid rubber maybe. I gave my Speed Cart away because of this problem.

For something that probably hasn't been done before, why not have a portable cart that can not only move itself (already available) but give the player a ride, too.

i would like to see a three wheel push cart being able to fold up to something the size of a golf bag. without costing around 300 dollars.

Re: Golf Buggy design

I love the features of the Sun Mountain, but the pneumatic tires and their hassle with flats has kept me from buying one. If they put a semi-hollow, no air-up tire on them, I would probably buy one. Meanwhile, I am using a BagBoy 440LT with the optional third wheel. It does a pretty good job. But I think pneumatic tires on a push/pull cart are not worth the possibility of having a flat tire.

I rent push carts when I feel like walking that day. My complaints are: it has no place to sit when waiting for your friends to hit, no place to write down your score without having to take the scorecard off the holder, no pencil slot, no tee slots.
