Re: 73 Degree Wedge

I've never seen anything over a 64. You could hit yourself in the left eye with a 73, I would think.

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

I have a 68 degree. I don't carry it , but I have found that if I practice with it, it makes hitting my 60 degree seem really easy.

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

I went to a 90* degree wedge, after reading a golf-tip that encouraged me "to not hit the ball".

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

Just recently started playing a Pinemeadow 64* wedge. Its incredibly easy to hit short flops without a lot of swing adjustment. Can't imagine needing a 73 after seeing how easy a 64 is to flop high. What kind of bounce does that 73 have?

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

The only place I can imagine using one would be on the local putt-putts.

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

I don't think thats a story -- its a press release -- so hot on tour I bet! It would be a fun club nonetheless, but you only get 14, not sure I would waste one on a 73 degree wedge. All you need to do is open the face on a 60.

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

My golf coach said phil could drive 150+ with a bladed sand wedge... an think of opening a 73° wedge. it would help if u didnt have that much green to work with lol

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

Just be aware that the higher the loft, the less margin for error you have with the club. I can tell you a 64* wedge is a lot less forgiving than a 60* wedge is. You really have to practice twice as much to get good with a 64* wedge, can't imagine how much you'd have to practice to get good with a higher loft wedge. Not too many golfers are willing to put in that much time I'd bet.

Re: 73 Degree Wedge

nor do you need it? I remember when i first started - you did everything with a pitching wedge jut by opening the face up and sand if u were in the sand.. i remember my grandfather telling me a pitching wedge was worthless just to use a 9 iron and he was a scratch golfer back in da day.
