*HELP* Thinking about buying a new set of clubs

I wanna buy these following clubs:

driver: titleist 975D 8.5 degrees w/ x100 shaft
3 wood: titleist pt 15 degrees w/ x100 shaft
irons: titleist 690 mb 2-PW w/ x100 shafts
wedges: titleist oil can spin milled vokeys 56 and 60 degrees
putter: titleist scotty cameron pro platinum 35 inches w/ pingman grip

How does this all sound? Should I look at something else or is this setup pretty good?

right now, i own the titleist 695 cbs and i think they look ugly compared to the older titleist clubs. i have a nike sq sumo 5000 series driver, taylor made ti 3/5 woods and some other clubs.

Im a 5 handicapper who consistently plays in the 70s in competitions, have a very high clubhead speed and seeking control/accuracy over my game to get down to scratch. ive never had a problem with distance and i can hit the ball a long way (300 yards consistently with a modern driver). I also love to shape the ball and hit low/high shots.

Should I keep the clubs i have now or change them? I can get all those clubs for a really really cheap price as well.

It sounds like you have the game for the clubs. But GrantMLS is right. There are lots of differences between shafts and clubheads even with blades. Some can feel rather harsh and some not and it can vary for different individuals. If it is possible, hit them a few times first. If you can't and have a super price, you can probably sell them or trade them if you don't like them.

Re: *HELP* Thinking about buying a new set of clubs

yeah ive tried all of those clubs except for the irons. i saw the specs on the 690mb's and there is way more loft than my current 695cb's which make it easier to hit. i have also tried the X100 shafts and didnt have a problem with them at all. every shot was controlled and i could shape the ball easily. so what are you really trying to tell me here? i mean, how would these clubs be a problem if they have higher lofts than the average iron and have one of the most controlled shafts in the entire market for powerful golfers.

That everyones swing, prefernce and feel are all differnt and you cant tell if a club will be good for you until you play it.. not saying its not - maybe your best bet but its hard to ask people.. Golf is a feel game you gotta go with what feels right.
