milled iron faces

I jjust noticed that my old irons are not flat faced. I could mill them myself if I had a way to hold the heads. But it's too much trouble to build a fixture. Maybe I could buy one?

New irons might be nice. But I don't like the new low lofts. Can I get higher lofted cavity backs with a milled face? What about same with titanium faces?

Re: milled iron faces

There is a good reason the newer cavity back irons come with lower lofts. The design of the head makes it launch the ball higher than older blade style irons, so they lower the loft angle to compensate. If you did get a set of higher loft cavity back irons, you might end up hitting the ball too high and lose some distance. But if you still want to try it. look into a set of Ladies irons. They tend to come with higher lofts. Or look at a set with an HT after the name, Would do the same thing. for you.
