Re: Cheap but Good golf balls
I've played a variety of balls the past two years. E5, E6, Pro V1, etc. I know this is no help but I'm still stuck on the Pro V1.
I used to play the "original" Noodle by Maxfli which had a very good feel, great distance and moderate spin. Then it was the original "Laddie" by Precept which felt even better than the Noodle. When the manufacturers redesigned these two balls I quit using them. It seems that when a ball company comes out with a great low-mid priced ball that performs and sells extremely well they eventually make it a "hard" distance ball, hence the "New Noodle" and the "Laddie Extreme". The only reason I can come up with for this is that the ball is too good and starts to hurt their high dollar tour ball sales.
