T.M. burner Tp golf balls...

Has anyone tried the Taylormade Burner TP golf balls? Could you tell me your thoughts on them?

Excellent mid priced ball. The Urethane (I think TM calls Ionothane, but it's essentially the same) cover gives it good spin on chips and pitches, and I liked it in all phases of the game. I'd have used it more last year if I could have talked the buyer in the pro shop to stock it. Since I get an employee discount, I rarely buy balls anywhere else, so I only get what she will carry in the shop.

I like playing them actually. I prefer a tour ball but these aren't bad at all. They are a LONGER ball than most. Be careful with that when you chip and putt. I have also found it goes about 5-10 yards farther than other balls.

Re: T.M. burner Tp golf balls...

I have been playing it for about a year. I like it. But today I just bought two dozens regular burner. Will tell you if the 10 bucks make a difference to me. The regular burner has 60 compression, so I would expect it to feel really soft on irons and driver. But firm on the chip and putt. My chip usually ends up short of the hole due to the higher spin Burner TP, hopefully with this it will check up and roll better.

The regular burner also has a different cover. I will not have the same performance around the green as the TP does. I've heard that the regular Burner is really no different from any other cheap two piece ball.

I'll find out today. In that case I would have been overpaying by 8 bucks a dozen. We'll see.

I tried a sleeve of them recently and found they flew lower and a little shorter than my normal ball (Titleist ProV1). The performance on chipping and putting was very similar. I'd be interested in hearing how it went for you.

Re: T.M. burner Tp golf balls...

welll, I put them in play twice. In short, I like it. Very soft, and spins well for two piece. Holds its line in the wind. Durable. And long. Especially on my irons. I normally hit pin high or short, but with these balls, I hit them consistenly longer. Even on mishit, I am still on the green.

Two thumbs up. From now on I am playing regular Burner, at 35 two dozens, they're good deal.

I bought some of these last week, but since there is about 4 inches of snow on the ground here I 'll guess I'll have to wait a few months to find out how good they are
