Re: Hybrids
Lots of room for interpretation, but I will say this. I'm sure you have heard that a hybrid is a replacement for your long irons. It just isn't true. You might have heard hybrids are much easier to hit than long irons. Well, that isn't necessarily true either. Before you decide on hybrid, or long iron, or fairway wood, you have to understand your game. You have to know what you need a particular club for, how it fits into your bag and how it benefits your swing. I carry a 4 iron and then I have two hybrids, 20 and 17. I don't carry any fairway woods (not even a 3W), why? Because I am a digger and great at compressing the ball which is how you hit a hybrid... just like an iron. My buddy has no hybrids and carries a 3, 5, 7 wood. Why, because he is a sweeper and picks the ball clean, so the woods are better for his game. When it comes down to it, go hit a bunch of demos, try woods, long irons, hybrids, that is the only way to truly know what fits your game.
