Vijay on Titleist.com

Granted, Vijay plays a Titleist ball, but I was surprised to see Vijay on the front page of titleist.com today, complete with his "Cleveland" visor!

Wow, that would be a little bit of a shock. Nevertheless, they are using him right now because of the way he is winning. Titleist is proud of the fact that the numero uno in the world uses their ball, even if he doesn't use their clubs. It is just a marketing scheme.

Yes, I don't think anyone would think it's anything but "marketing." I just think they'd try to find a picture of him without the visor, or to cut it off, blur it, edit it, or something like that.

It doesn't suprise me at all. If you have seen the comercial for the Pro V1 you see a bunch of players that have other club sponsors. In fact you see David Toms, Chad Cambel and Shaw Macheal in it and they are all sponsored by Cleveland and you see Chris Dimarco who is sponsored by Ping.

Still seems odd that they wouldn't want people to at least wear neutral caps or something for their commercials.

Maybe VJ's deal with Cleveland says he must wear his Cleveland visor regardless of what else he endorses.

Titleist will always show the winner of a tournament if they use their ball. I have never seen any equipment makers name remove or blacked out.

If one equipment maker did that to a photo of a player with another equipment maker's logo in view, it would probably result in a lawsuit, and maybe a few people losing their jobs.
