Scott, are the tips about the same in the PL65 R versus the PL65 S? I certainly don't want to create any pre-dispositions here even before I give the PL65 S a fair shake. There are some S-flex shafts that I can handle and some of which I cannot...hoping the PL65 S is one of those S-flexes that I can handle.

I have the prolaunch in my Ping G2 It is the best shaft I have hit (for my swing). With the NV and any other shaft with a moderately high torque (3.5) I will hook it off the planet. With the prolaunch it has eliminated the left side miss almost completely.

Ball Flight: It is what you would expect with the Pro Launch soft tip…It is a high ball flight. I was hitting a 9* driver and I was hitting them high. With a 9* loft I should have been hitting medium to low bullets but I was hitting high bombs.

Feel: Not as harsh feeling and not as boardy as the Blue but also not as good as the NV which is close to the Pro Launch price range.

Control. Control was good no problem with hitting left or right. I hit it too far left a lot but it was the club head not the shaft. The Ping G5 has a way closed face.

Over all a good shaft if you want to get it up in the air. If you have a driver that the loft is too low don’t get a new driver with a higher loft…..get this shaft.

Got my BB04 3 wood in today with the 65g ProLaunch Stiff installed.

Switching from the stock Regular flex Callaway steel to this, all I can say is WOW. I LOVE the high ball flight and I gained about 10-15 yards honestly. I also gained consistency in contact and ball flight. I know this is just a first report from 50 practice shots, but I still give it an eagle no doubt.

Also, it's the best looking club in my bag by far...the blue/grey shaft matches the blue/black G8 grip really well and the chrome clubhead tops it off nicely.

Two VERY different shafts. The NV is a mid-high kick, tip stiff shaft. The Pro Launch is a mid-low kick shaft with a softer tip. I had a Ping G2 with a NV 65S and it was good. I got on the launch monitor at a Titleist/Cobra demo day and was a lot longer with the 905R with a Pro Launch 65R. Since then, I've had a problem with spraying the ball with the 905, I think the shaft is just too whippy for my swing. Most sprays are high rights, had the same problem with a YS-6 S-flex (really a R) that came stock in my Cobra.

When I put the "right" swing on the Pro Launch, which is a smooth gradual load, it can go LONG, the shaft has a LOT of kick. But, as stated, I've been spraying it too much for a big, forgiving head. My typical swing is not smooth enough for that shaft, maybe a Pro Launch S would have been better.

Played with a guy who had my exact 905R head with a UST Pro Force V2 S-flex shaft. He saw some of my sprays and told me to try his. Hit his a few times just as far as the Pro Launch with much less tendency to go off line. The V2 S-flex did not fel overly stiff or boardy, it seemed nice and smooth with plenty of kick. My 905 is currently in the shop getting a new V2 65S shaft.

I put this shaft (R flex) in a TM R5 Dual 8.5, the trajectory was much higher than the stock TM shaft and anytime I tried to put a little "oomph" on a drive it would go high right, very right. I really had to stay smooth and not get too quick in transition or else. I would recommend this to low ball hitters who need a higher trajectory.

I have the 65S pro launch blue shaft on my Hibore and its a sweet shaft if you need to hit it a little higher. I have a 9.5 degree head on this shaft and it hits BOMBS! I need a little less height though because I already hit high . It doesnt balloon either. A great shaft. I swing about 85-95mph and I have a stiff flex and it works great for me. Give it a shot..

Pro Launch 65s in my G5

All I can say about my combo (G5, 9deg / Pro Launch 65s) is high and left. I have a naturally high trajectory and this shaft enhanced it a bit too much. If I slowed down my swing I could hit it straight as an arrow, but the minute I tried to draw it a bit or jump on it, it went left.
I'm now experimenting with a Graphite Design YS7 and it seems to be much better. Will know a bit more by this weekend.
I'm also considering the Pro Launch Red. It is a high flexpoint, low trajectory.

Re: Grafalloy Blue Pro Launch Golf Shaft Review

This shaft was the best investment I made with my set. I can't believe the difference from
a custom fit vs a standard.
