the weight may have a little to do with the hook, but the shaft may need to be spined aligned ( jb's on ebay for $40.00). the heavier nv75 is a fantastic shaft ( i have 4) and it may be that the nv65 is letting you release to soon. the speeder shafts tend to be a little shiffer than the aldila nv's also.

I have a semi-aggressive swing tempo. Occassionally, I am trying to kill the ball I swing way to fast/hard. Generally, however, my swing is becoming more smooth and controlled. I was wanting to buy a shaft that is less than 55 grams and the NV55 was an option. My swing speed ranges anywhere from 89-100. Should I be looking at an R flex or an S flex NV55 for a smooth/occassionally aggressive swing tempo w/89-100mph clubhead speed? Thanks
-Brendan

Re: Aldila NV Golf Shaft Review

What is the correct way to pronounce "aldila" ? al-dee-luh or al-di-luh

anyways, I love these shafts. I have a 5 wood with one in 70, stiff, and after trying my friends driver with a 65 stiff, I just ordered a Callaway X460 with one. Sweet.

Re: Aldila NV Golf Shaft Review

I have a Callaway Titanium 360cc 10-degree driver which came with the ProLaunch Blue R-flex shaft. I just bought a Tour Edge Exotics 460cc 10.5-degree driver which came with the Aldila NV Exotics R-flex shaft. Here are my observations
1. Diameter of the Aldila NV "green" shaft is smaller (by naked eyes) than that of ProLaunch Blue shaft
2. By wiggling both drivers, I felt that the Aldila NV shaft is a little bit more "flex" than that of ProLauch Blue

How do they play in comparison:
1. I am confirmed that the Tour Edge Exotics driver is at least 10-15 yds longer than my Callaway Titanium driver. Not sure if it's due to the Aldila shaft or a combination of Tour Edge Exotics driver head and the Aldila NV shaft
2. The ball flight of my Tour Edge Exotics driver is higher than that of Callaway driver, I strongly believe that it's due to the Aldila shaft... maybe that's why it's 10-15 yds longer. The good thing is that I have not been able to balloon a golf ball with my Tour Edge Exotics, but I've done a few times with my Callaway driver if I try to tee it higher.

Conclusion: I like the Aldila NV shaft so much (high ball flight, golf ball seem to jump off the club face better etc...) that I already sent my Callaway 3-wood out to reshaft using the Aldila NV shaft. Hopefully it would perform well as my Tour Edge Exotics drive

My thought : If you have a driver swing speed of 85-90 like mine, then you would get more "kick" with the Aldila NV R-flex shaft. If you prefer just a touch stiffer (but not too stiff) then consider the ProLaunch Blue shaft R-flex which is also a VERY good shaft

Happy Golfing

Re: Aldila NV Golf Shaft Review

I moved from Callaway 2004 BB 3-wood (with ProLaunch Blue R-flex shaft) to Callaway 2007 BB 3-wood (with Aldila NV R-flex shaft) and I could hit a golf ball much much better, higher launch, cleaner contact, ball goes farther... so I am not sure it's the Aldila NV shaft or a combination of shaft and 2007 BB 3-wood head, but definitely it's a much improvement that I need
