Just picked up a Cally Big Bertha 3 with a GD YS Power Fairway shaft. I was previously unaware this shaft even existed. It's 85g, stiff flex and tight! Nice trajectory, distance and control are on even when I jump on it. Now I've got a dilemma. The NP-99 or BB 3? A few more range sessions and a round or two will tell. I use my 3 wood a lot off the tee so I'm looking for accuracy, total distance, distance control and consistency here. More later....
I had the ys-6 stiff in my 983K driver. I had this shaft removed and placed it in my Clev. Launcher 5wd that had the reg. gold shaft. Man is this now a smooth but firm club. It's hard to explain, but it's a perfect match for my ss. I'm trying to find another ys-6(not the ys-6+) to place in my 3wd launcher.
It's not loose and yet not to stiff and the ball just fly's with control.

I just had my 93 heavenwood reshafted with the GS YS7 type II, stiff, from an RCH90. It was a little lighter than I wanted, but the shaft is still recommendable. I haven't tried the YS7+ (non type 2), so I can't go for a head to head comparo. Still, I like the shaft, the trajectory (a little higher than previous shafts).
If there's one disadvantage, it's that graphite designs' designation of stiff doesn't seem to be as stiff as I thought. If I had known, I'd have gone for an X stiff instead.
does anyone think a ys 6+ would work well in an ft-3 fusion or nike sq? i ask cause this shaft is not offered by the manufacturer or anyretailer i've seen...atleast not for these two clubs specifically...thanks.

Callaway's website lists the YS6+ available for the FT-3.
I put the ys 7 x flex, (I personally think the ys 6 stiff plays like a regular ) in my Nike Sq 3 wood. The ball gets up easily with great feel and trajectory. No mre slight pulls just boring ball flight. A+ Now I need one for my hybrid.
Had the YS-6+ on my r5-D 9.5 and the soft tip ballooned a little too much for me. I have since switched to a slightly heavier shaft with a higher kickpoint and things working great for me. The YS-6+ is a great shaft, just not with my swing.
I just had a YS7+ X-Flex put in my TM Superquad this shaft is awesome. I was playing a By-You 65S and just never felt like I could load the shaft consistantly, lots of snap hooks. I think the X-Flex probably plays a bit softer than its competition but it seems to load perfect regardless of what your trying to do. I give this shaft a A+ for anyone who wants a heavier shaft in a mid/high kick and doesnt want to spend a ton of money..
This reply is only about two years late, but I have the Titlest 904 fairway metals and Cobra 460sz with the ys6+ and it fits me like a glove. Had to search for the Driver for six months. The Titanium head is so loud that I have got to change to Composite crown. I am on a budget so I buy used stuff, usually at Golf mart is SoCal.
Do they make an iron shaft that matches this shaft ? That would be perfect.
