I hope their right.I just ordered a new driver with this shaft in it the other day.I'll let you know what I think about it after I field test it.I should get it on the 11th or 12th of Dec.Hopefully the 10" of snow we just got will be gone by then.
Hi Jon, welcome to Golf Rewind...you should be pleased with the Evolution...great shaft. Jody, is there going to be a lighter version of this released in 2006? I'd like to give that a shot. Thanks.
The Accuflex Evolution is a great shaft for an aggressive hitter….it is a hitters shaft not a swingers.
The Accuflex Evolution I hit has a weight of 70gr, torque 2.8, and was a stiff flex in a Nike ignite head 9.5* loft.
Looks: This is nice looking shaft. It has the same colors of the Aldila NVS with out the neon sign look to it.
Feel: This is a great feeling shaft. Much better than the NV, Blue, Pro Launch, UST, Graphite Design YS series or any Harrison shaft I have hit. You can feel the kick when you hit the ball and it is a silky feel to it….not boardy.
Ball Flight: It has a very nice medium ball flight with a lot of roll. It is a mid kick shaft that I could not hit left. It was either a straight or fade ball flight. If you hook or pull the ball get this shaft.
Distance: I would call this a distance shaft more then a control shaft. The control is fine but it is not over bearing like some hard to load low torque shafts.
Price: At this shafts price range I would put it in the same boat as the Aldila NV and the Graphite Design YS shafts. However it is much better then both of them.
I would compare this shaft to a Fujikura Speeder 757 (at $200 less the cost) that is easier to load then the 757 but with the distance and kick of the 757. The Accuflex Evolution is a great shaft.

Sure is! Looking to be released at the 2006 PGA Merchandise show in late Jan.
I have tried the Evolution twice. In the Infinity Prop 460 as a demo and in a an SMT Solly 3.5 fairway wood. The Prp 460 felt great producing nice drawws, was skeptical at first hearing about the 'plays stiffer than flex' posts on FGI, but it felt great for my ~95mph swing in this head. So then I got a good deal on a short Evo pull and put it in my 3.5 Solitaire fairway head, untipped at 42.5". Now I have gotten rid of my 43" thriver because the 3.5 Solitaire has come to life with this shaft , compared dto the UST Proforce FWshaft that was in it. The Evo is a great shft.
