I'm certainly no expert but check the position of the ball in relation to your feet when using those irons. If you are right handed, move the ball more foward in your stance, closer to your right foot and keep the tempo fluid - not fast and jerky.
Try to find your ball position. Mine is right around my heart. Just try hitting the ball left of the middle of your stance and work your way to the right foot until you find the point where you are sweeping the grass with your iron. Also keep your head down at least 2 seconds after the ball. When you pick your head up to see the ball you tend to pick up your shoulders and you skull the ball.
I would stop hitting the driver at the range until you fix your irons. It sounds like you are sweeping up on your swing, which will work for a tee-d up ball. This doesn't work for iron shot because you need to hit down on the ball to make it go up. Practice hitting your irons off the grass. Pretend to hit the ball under a bench 3 feet in front of you. It will shock you how high the ball go when you do this.

My number 1 swing thought for good ball-striking is to "stay down on the ball". Let the iron or driver loft pick the ball up. Don't try and scoop the ball. You'll suck at golf until you learn this!
Also keep your swing at 75% and always take a divot (except for short chips)
Finally, leave the driver in the bag until you can use irons and fairway woods consistently
