Another discovery as a result of a recent lesson
I started hitting occasional pull hooks and slices. The clubhead was coming outside in or way inside.
After messing with this in front of a mirror, I realized I was straightening my left leg/pushing my left hip forward on the downswing. This basically changed the swing plane to be flatter like a baseball swing. I was concentrating so much on what I was working on that this other fault creeped in...
Remedy: stay 'seated' into the left hip during the backswing. Rotate the left hip backward rather than sliding it forward as you start the downswing.
Hope this helps a few folks out there.
To think I gave up a successful tennis career for this....
