Shaft torque

Does anyone know if it's possible to have too little torque in a shaft? I've just recently switched to a Mitsubishi Rayon shaft in my driver, and have gone from a light fade to a hook suddenly. My old shaft had 2.8 torque. The new one (if I've been told correctly) has 2.1. Can that small a change make a difference even?
