i hit a natural fade but i noticed when i do this, i draw the ball more. on the course today, i tried keeping my left arm more attached to my body with my irons. i seem to draw the ball more often, too. then on the last hole, i decided to mimic the feeling with my driver. i'd been hitting fades all day (maybe a slice or two) but when i did this, i hit a draw.
i'm just wondering, what effect does keeping your arm attached to your body have to your swing?

I've also tried this drill a while back and noticed the same results as you.
By keeping your arms connected to your body it helps to cure an
over-the-top move to begin your downswing. The club must follow the direction your chest is moving, creating an inside-out swing path.
However, if you start your downswing with reverse-pivot type move, the club will be re-routed outside the taret line to begin and travel inside as your body opens to the target.
