I've heard everything from gimmick to that it really works. Here's an article that may help you decide...good luck.

that was not an article, it was an advertisement. The reason it does not work is you have to swing it back too fast, which destroys tempo. It is junk and I cannot believe he sells the thing. His conscious had got to be killing him about this one. Personally I had one and took it back after a few weeks.

I agree, it's junk. The only thing it could *possibly* teach you is to set your wrists (hence the name perhaps?), but even so, you have to whip the thing like crazy to get it to snap on the way back like it's supposed to.

How can it teach you swing plane? It can't.
How can it teach you inside-out-inside? It can't.

I just don't get it. I swung it a few times, it clicked when it was supposed to, and I put it back down. Big whoop.

Didn't realize that-- my bad for not checking the source...I did a quick search on GO and found it, posted it and had to run...thanks for pointing that out.

I like the way you put that

what are your swing issues?
there is a place called ROVERGOLF.com and I have used one of there devices called pureswing. What you do is hit balls with it and if the device touches your arm at impact then you have your hands leading the clubface, which is forward shaft lean, and it works well. I have tried some other devices and I say this is legit.

i have the swingsetter as well as the momentus. personally i use both and find the mixture of the two to be very useful. you don't have to swing it back too fast you just have the magnetic balls on too high a setting for your speed.

every swing device out there will suit some people but not others. if you put up every product on here it would get as many bad reviews as good if not more. but that's the nature of the game of golf, everyone is different. the same could be said for golf instructors, what one person teaches will work for some and not others hence the fact all the top teachers have different methods and thoughts.

personally i like the swingsetter but that's just my opinion.

I always have to laugh when I see the ad on golf channel that has Nick Price snapping the thing back like he's just snagged a salmon.

I respectfully have to disagree. There is a device called a tactic. It is something you wear on your wrist and there is NOTHING bad about the device. What it does is click when you break down at impact, that is all it does. it gives instant feedback when you swing bad. I have talked to MANY instructors and when talking about the swing setter NONE have said that iit is good.

At the end of the day there is not golf trainer that gives you the perfect swing, there is no device that fixes every swing flaw. The "Tactic" you talk about fixes one part of your swing only, it cannot fix posture, swing plane, tempo etc. The same with any other product.

The magnetic balls on the Swingsetter click on the downswing telling you when you have released the club, if it clicks before the impact point you have uncocked too early, if it clicks past you have uncocked too late. That is one part of the swing it can't get wrong, this would help a lot of people.

At the end of the day if you feel the product you have bought is helping you play better golf and you have notcied improvement then surely it has worked?
