Take dead aim. If you need more distance, grab the next lowest club
It may sound like I'm jokin', but I'm really not. Sacrificing power for direction sounds like a good thing to me, and I think you'll likely find that the longer you stick with your newfound focus, you'll get that distance back -
especially if, as you say, your ballstriking is improving.
My suggestion? Stick with it!
