Update on My First Ever Match Play Event

I won! Thanks for all the great advice, I took it all with me today! I won the match 6 and 5. I was 7 up after 8 holes - it was great!

I just kept thinking about what League said, don't relax if you are 1 up - try to get to 2 up and so on. It was a great day.

Thanks again for all your great tips. Now on to the finals tomorrow....

Final Update - I was the runner up in the championship match. I feel really good about it with all things considered. First, as you know, it was my first experience in a match play event, and only my second experience in a tournament (scrambles notwithstanding). Also, it was scratch. I'm a 23 handicap and my two opponents were 14 and 16.

In my match yesterday I won 6 and 5. Today I took it to 15 holes, but lost 5 and 4. So, it was a great experience all together, and I learned a lot.

Thanks for all the help from my friends at GR!

Yes I did have fun. I love competition. Although I'm relatively new to golf (7 years, only two playing it down and keeping a handicap), I have been in some sort of athletics (softball, volleyball) since my teens, and was a scratch bowler (I "retired" from bowling 10 years ago). So, that previous experience of knowing how to compete was a real advantage, which is why I believe I was able to have fun and do well!

I absolutely love golf and am mezmerized by the game. It is by far the most difficult sport I've ever encountered which is why I love it so much. Tough people do tough things!

Thanks again for your assistance. I can't wait for the next tournament!

P. S. It must have been 5 & 3?
